Did you know that AOCS LPP (Laboratory Proficiency Program) has several aflatoxin series?

Aflatoxins are poisonous substances produced by certain kinds of fungi (moulds) that are found naturally all over the world; they can contaminate food crops and pose a serious health threat to humans and livestock. Aflatoxins also pose a significant economic burden, causing an estimated 25% or more of the world’s food crops to be destroyed annually.

The AOCS Laboratory Proficiency Program (LPP) provides an opportunity for the laboratories you work with to demonstrate their proficiency assessing critical measures of aflatoxins, by participating in the world's most extensive and respected collaborative proficiency testing program for oil- and fat-related commodities, oilseeds, oilseed meals, edible fats and plant proteins.

The LPP includes series for aflatoxin in peanut paste, corn meal, and in pistachio and almonds. Participants receive high quality testing samples every quarter. They enter the results they obtain, and information about the method they used, via our secure website and receive a comprehensive report of their performance compared to other laboratories. Analysts who achieve superior performance in all 4 quarters can apply to be an Approved Chemist.

Laboratories with Approved Chemists in aflatoxin testing include Admiral Testing Services, Amspec, ATC, Blue Diamond Growers, Eurofins Central Analytical, Eurofins Nutrion Analysis Center, Fieldale Farms, Hahn Laboratory, New Jersey Feed Lab, Primex Farms, SDK Laboratories, Seragro SA, Whitbeck Laboratories Inc. They are featured in the AOCS Recommended Lab Directory. Is your laboratory in the AOCS Recommended Lab Directory?
