Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) welcomed Dr. Susan T. Mayne as its new Director of the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN). Dr. Mayne is best known for her studies in the role of diet, nutrition, and obesity in chronic disease risk. Prior to joining the FDA, Dr. Mayne was the C.-E.A. Winslow Professor of Epidemiology and Chair, Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health, as well as Associate Director of the Yale Cancer Center.
